The crank allows the gate to sit flush with the post if hanging on the front or the back of the post. As a general rule we recommend using hinges that cover half the width of the gate/door. M12 X 100mm CARRIAGE BOLT (+ HEX NUT)

Carriage Bolt; cup square hex, 30mm mushroom head, BZP finish (Bright Zinc Plate). Designed for bolting through timber. Square hex refers to the square section attached to the mushroom head, this sinks into timber and stops the bolt from spinning when the nut is tightened.
