Ash is often regarded as the best burning species of timber for firewood, providing plenty of heat. It is kiln dried to further increase the amount of heat output, also reducing the amount of smoke and soot produced whilst burning.

Square hex refers to the square section attached to the mushroom head, this sinks into timber and stops the bolt from spinning when the nut is tightened.
